NorthwoodsBrewer502 This absolutely rips. In every way.
Dave Aftandilian

Dave Aftandilian Powerful blackened invocations of the ritual worlds of the original peoples, from the ancient Mesoamerican Maya to the Ghost Dancers of the Northern Plains. There is clear vision here, seething rage, and faithful hope for Turtle Island to be washed clean of the settlers’ stench.

Hellishdust cowboy metal at its finest Favorite track: Centaur.

H.L. The more than solid base of VITAL SPIRIT's art is melodic black metal, dynamic and often fast-paced with harsh screams. But the cream on the cake are the Ennio Morricone spaghetti western influences which are woven naturally into the thrilling mixture. This is similar to for example Untamed Land's approach but nevertheless it is still highly original and cool. Looking forward to a full release! Favorite track: Centaur.

Ron Ben-Tovim One of the best releases of the year, and Centaur is one of the best songs of the year, easily. Favorite track: Centaur.

Heart of Sky 03:52
Infinitude precedes us Site of our ancient forbearers Heart of ocean, heart of sky Latent spirits at the source Of our place in the shadows From the darkness that envelops The liminal emerged From the penumbra A dominion between worlds Dual paradigm of our existence Umbral progenitors Vucub Caquix has deceived you Clutching our tongues in its talons A tired moon An aimless sun Became the harbingers of our decay Encroached upon by the morning light Our memory recedes Our place in the shadows fades A dream surrenders to the waking mind Primordial mother Giver of breath, Giver of heart Ixchel We entreat you
2.
Centaur 04:55
The poets tell how Villa fell A man of immortal fame Seven leagues of polished steel For land and liberty With skin like iron To gamble and triumph Nowhere and everywhere Seated in the chair At the cannon's foot To expel the invader Climbing hills, crossing mountains For homeland and honor The beast uncaged The reigns strained The tiger dispatched The dominos fall Adiós torres de Chihuahua Adiós torres de cantera Ya vino Francisco Villa A quitarnos la frontera
3.
Then began their reign Then began their rule Poised upon the precipice Willingly into the well of sacrifice Returned from sacred cenote From death To declare the prophecy To rule That which came was a drought Hoofs of the animals burned Seashore burned A sea of misery So it was said on high The face of the sun was eaten Darkened Extinguished Black So it was said
4.
Ghost Dance 04:22
When the sun died I went to heaven And spoke to God He commanded we love one another Forbade quarrels, thieves, and liars He gave me this dance A dance for my people The ancestors will return All evil is washed away Renewed Earth Unmolested by the plough Wisdom in dreams Freedom in soil In the homes of our fathers In the bosom of our mother Dance a new world into being Keep dancing We shall live We shall live again
